Summary

Job Title: Psychologist Grade: Band 7 Trust: Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Location: Orchard Health Centre Banbury/Raglan House Cowley. Hours: Monday - Friday 9.00am 17.00pm Pay rate: £ 25.60 About the Trust: Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides physical, mental health and social care for people of all ages across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath, and Northeast Somerset. You will be working within a team where you would gain experince of working within a busy CAMHHS service that has a very good supervision structure. To be successful in applying for this role you will need: Experience of working within CAMHS Use of Rio for recording o would need RIO exp Experince with working with children with mental health needs Ability to work on their own Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies with clients with severe and complex mental health problems Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health Registration with HCPC In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of: Relevant Qualifications Registration with the relevant Registration Body Role responsibilities: To provide specialist psychological assessments of clients referred to the team based upon the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the clients care, as appropriate and commensurate with skill. To plan and implement formal psychological treatment and/or management of a clients mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the clients problems, and employing methods of proven efficacy. To implement a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses. To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options considering both theoretical and therapeutic models and complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group. To be responsible and accountable for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients whose problems are managed by psychologically based care plans. To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and to provide advice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management. To act as lead professional, where no other team member is involved, taking responsibility for initiating planning and review of care plans including clients, their careers, referring agents and others involved the network of care. To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation, and treatment plans of clients under their care and to monitor progress during the course of both uni- and multi-disciplinary care. To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping including electronic data entry and recording, report writing and the responsible exercise of professional self-governance in accordance with relevant professional codes of practice and Trust policies and procedures. Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient. Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service including use of routine outcome and patient experience measures. Who are NHS Professionals?
