Summary

The opportunity

We're seeking an Operations Assistant to play a crucial role in the daily operations of the Fashion, Textiles and Technology Institute (FTTI) at the University of the Arts London. This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of a team that pushes the boundaries of innovation in the fashion, textiles, and technology industry.

FTTI is the legacy of a significant £5.9 million funding award from the AHRC Creative Research & Development Partnership, under the UKRI Creative Industry Cluster Programme. The institute is strategically located in the London College of Fashion's new East Bank campus in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, a thriving centre for creativity and innovation.

In this role, you will work closely with the Institute Manager to streamline institute operations, serve as the initial contact for our prestigious partners and stakeholders, and support the administration of cutting-edge global R&D projects.

Our partners include notable institutions such as University College London, University of Loughborough, Queen Mary University London, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the British Council. These relationships enhance our vibrant, collaborative environment and are integral to our mission of integrating academic research with practical industry applications.

Join us and contribute to a pioneering project that is setting new standards in the fashion, textiles, and technology sectors.

About you

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an HEI environment, with strong attention to detail, project management experience, a collaborative working approach and be comfortable working in a team and individually. You will be able to use your initiative and organise your work to achieve objectives on time. The role will require extensive use of finance and Microsoft systems (REX, Excel, Word), and so experience working in a financial, administrative or research department at an HEI would be extremely desirable.
