Summary

Do you have experience of teaching medical statistics/biostatistics? Would you like to work in an academic environment delivering statistics teaching and support for analytical & methodological research involving oral & dental health?

In this role, you will provide statistical and methodological input to students and staff. The post will be line managed by the School’s Lecturer in Dental Education and Psychometrics and you will work closely with the School’s lead statistician as well as the Directors of Student Education, and Research and Innovation. You will deliver high-quality student education and contribute towards delivery of the School’s research strategy.

The School of Dentistry is seeking someone with excellent communication skills to help deliver the statistical elements of the curricula for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The role requires a knowledgeable and approachable candidate who can help both students and staff with the delivery of research projects.

You will contribute to high-quality statistical education as part of our research-led teaching approach in the School. You will also have the opportunity to build on your research experience. As you will work closely, interactively, and collaboratively with both students and academics at the School, you will need good communication skills with the ability to explain complex methodological approaches in simple manner to non-experts, along with good interpersonal and teamwork skills, with ability to manage and meet deadlines.

This role will provide you with an excellent opportunity to develop as a permanent member of the academic staff following a period of probation and to be supported in your career development through a Teaching and Scholarship role with scope for a future Teaching and Research role if applicable.
