Your new opportunity

Ayrshire Youth Support Service is currently recruiting x2 Transition Mentors (Nightshift) to support young people aged 16-25 years who are homeless. Quarriers AYSS provide quality support and build professional relationships to enable young people to sustain their tenancy and reduce repeat homelessness.

As a Transition Mentor you will work with the young people while on nightshift when required providing advise and mentoring to ensure the young people feel safe and secure while supporting their individual needs. Some of the young people have emotional support needs and have experienced severe trauma in their young lives, therefore having the ability to listen and build strong trusting relationships with the people we support is essential to ensure they feel safe and heard. Working pattern: Both Transition Mentor positions are permanent. The nightshift starts at 10pm -8am. 1st TM will work three nightshifts per week on a 3 week rolling rota. and 2nd TM will work two nightshifts per week on a rolling rota. Both postholders will be required to work 1 weekend in 3. Please note this is not lone working and another staff member will be on a sleepover shift to offer support if required. A premium rate of £11.88 is paid between midnight & 7am.
