The Opportunity

Lancaster University are looking for a dynamic, efficient, and motivated individual to join our HR Partnering Team, and to play a key role in the implementation of our People and Culture Plan, and University Strategy. You will work closely with leaders in the UK and overseas to help build organisational and people capabilities through presenting evidenced-based business insights, resulting in people solutions that contribute to the University’s success. They help to shape and implement effective HR strategies and programmes, drawing on their unique knowledge as people professionals to help achieve business objectives while enabling employees to flourish.

As HR Partner at Lancaster, you will have personal impact, professional credibility and act as a leader and representative of the People and Organisation Effectiveness Division. With a strong appreciation for the HE sector, you will bring your knowledge of the best people management practices to advise on the people implications for the University.

You will have an excellent track record of being a HR generalist including implementing business strategy from a people perspective, offering expertise in all people areas, as well as operational activity such as dealing with employee relations and policy development.

In return the University provides a competitive annual salary, generous annual leave allowance of 25 days, plus 6 closure days (to be taken over Christmas and Easter) and Bank Holidays. The University offers membership of the USS Pension Scheme, alongside a variety of other benefits such as car leasing, additional annual leave purchase, a cycle-to-work scheme, on-site pre-school centre and sports centre.

Lancaster University provides an environment that strongly supports the needs of each employee, promoting a healthy work-life balance. They are committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies on an individual basis, as well as the Athena Swan Charter, which recognises and celebrates good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education.

The University is committed to enhancing the diversity of our workforce and ensuring our culture is inclusive. We encourage applications from all diversity groups and people from the Global Majority for this position.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a team that will drive forward the HR Partnering Team.

If you want to find out more about joining our team, please contact Catherine Ellwood, Head of HR Partnering.
