Overview
- £35,000 annually depending on experience
- Average of 45 hours per week – paid weekly
- Shifts include lunchtime and evening, weekdays, and weekends (split shifts required)
- Rotating schedule with one weekend off every three weeks
- Flexibility required to cover holidays and occasional additional shifts
- Support newer members of the kitchen team
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask

The role
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. The successful candidate will oversee the preparation and presentation of our dishes, including our renowned Sunday lunches and steak nights. You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, ensuring consistency across all menu items, and managing kitchen operations efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to the highest standards, following established recipes and procedures.
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations during busy service periods.
- Create innovative and seasonal menus that appeal to our diverse customer base, while also incorporating traditional pub favourites.
- Manage inventory, stock rotation, and ordering to minimise waste and ensure freshness of ingredients.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with management with regards to rotas and team development
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef, with previous experience in a leadership role preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekdays, evenings, and weekends, with one weekend off in every three.
- Passion for delivering exceptional food and service, with a focus on exceeding customer expectations.
