Summary


We are looking for a friendly, self-motivated and dynamic individual to join our team to assist the nursing team with clinical care within our short stay paediatric assessment unit (SSPAU) at Northumbria Hospital.

The SSPAU includes a Paediatric Emergency department and short stay unit, providing care for children and young people across Northumberland and North Tyneside.

The Children's emergency care unit and 14 bedded short stay facility caters for children aged 0-16 years who require emergency assessment and treatment with a 24-hour inpatient facility if required.

We are support outpatient clinics at North Tyneside and Wansbeck General hospital.

Candidate must demonstrate a compassion and caring nature towards their patients and be able to deliver a high standard of care. One must possess good communication and organisational skills.

Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet the service needs of our patients which includes weekends and night shifts. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is desirable.

To assist the qualified nursing staff in the delivery of high quality direct and indirect patient care.

Monitor patient’s observations and vital signs including fluid balance.

To provide assistance and support to patients, carers and the multi-disciplinary team.

To maintain high clinical standards.

To help maintain a clean and safe ward environment.
