The Children’s Integrated Speech and Language Therapy service for Hackney and The City is an innovative and supportive team offering high quality services to our diverse East London community and beyond.

The postholder will be joining a friendly team of AHPs at Homerton Hospital all committed to giving babies the best start in life. The post holder will provide high quality assessment and intervention to infants, provide clinical supervision to the other SALTs on the neonatal unit and support the unit to achieve its broader aims. Our Clinical Lead Specialists also offer professional, service and clinical leadership in their specialist area, ensuring that our service remains evidence-based, high quality and child/family focused.

The post holder will work closely with colleagues in other neonatal units and the London Neonatal Operational Delivery Network forging strong collaborative working practices to better meet the needs of the babies on the neonatal unit. They will work closely with the clinical lead for dysphagia and Complex Needs to establish workplans and consider areas of development.

The post holder will work with AHP, medical and nursing colleagues as well as families to support the unit to work towards best practice care across the multi-disciplinary neonatal service, including the provision of Family Integrated Care, The UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative and Developmental Care. This includes identify training needs, developing and delivering training to a variety of audiences.

We are looking for someone with proven clinical skills and experience in managing infants in a neonatal unit alongside skills in management and leadership as well as enthusiasm for developing the existing service.

This post is advertised as 0.4 WTE. Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment would be an advantage.
