Summary

Our Young Persons supported housing service has an opportunity for a Project Worker to join their well established, passionate team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Where does the role fit into Pobl?

Clarewood provides 10 spacious, self-contained flats for young complex (otherwise homeless threatened) people aged 16-25. This service provides housing related support to assist our young people to eventually move into independent living.



What is great about the role?

Clarewood is centred around the needs of the young people we support. They are fully involved in the decision making of how the scheme is run. The scheme is completely client led and is viewed as their home.

The Project also has an onsite community social enterprise workshop which is specific to Woodcraft and provides access to a range of volunteering, education, employment and training opportunities for the people we support. This is a unique and exciting part of the scheme.



Your day will consist of:

As a Project Worker, you will co-ordinate the support for 10 service users to develop their key skills to achieve positive progression and to develop their skills to re-settle in the community. The Project Worker is expected to work closely with the Project Manager to develop the service and to lead on each shift with coaching /directing the work of the scheme support officers.



Skills and experience required:

Support Planning and maintaining and updating records, on an ongoing basis.
Ability to delegate and lead with resilience.
IT literate in order to use our support planning Pan Connect system.
Rapport building. engaging and interacting with the people we support.
Delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing.
Welfare checks.
Organising and participating in activities that could include basic DIY, independent living skills learning, craft making, group discussions, gardening, decorating, games, quizzes, fitness, film nights and days out.
Maintenance checks such as health & safety, fire safety.
Cleaning as required.
Addressing any additional needs, the people we support might have.
Applying for appropriate permanent move on accommodation in Neath Port Talbot.
Connecting with external partners in Neath including social services and youth services that offer support and engagement for young people.
Administrative tasks and maintaining/updating accurate records.
Supporting young people with access to ICT, employment, education and volunteering opportunities




What are the pay and benefits?

Full-time (37hrs), Permanent position
Competitive salary of £25,486.00
Car Owner/Driver with business insurance
Working pattern: The scheme is covered 24 hours, 7 days a week so you would be expected to work on a rolling rota. Working days are predominately Monday to Friday 9-5, but flexibility is required as you may need on occasions to work outside these days/ hours to support individuals and in the case of emergencies which may include an evening or a weekend.
An enhanced DBS is required for this role which we will pay for.
Commencing with 26 days (pro rata) holiday entitlement plus Bank Holidays.
