Summary

Senior Cost Analyst
Telford
Permanent
Monday – Friday – 8:30am – 5:00pm
Salary – up to £50,000

We are recruiting for a large international manufacturing organisation based in Telford. They are looking for a Senior Cost Analyst on a permanent basis. The purpose of the role will be to provide robust reporting of the manufacturing element of the accounting function, provide analysis and commentary of key manufacturing variances, setting budgeted standard costs and to look at ways to improve existing processes by redesign to exclude waste and provide efficiencies.

You will be responsible for:
• Support and manage the costing and controlling functions
• Support and manage the purchase ledger and accounts assistant treasury tasks
• Review monthly manufacturing variances in detail and provide commentary on major deviations
• Ensure budgetary control of fixed costs/overheads
• Monitor and report on Business Unit Fixed Cost deviations
• Monitor & report on Marketing Mix Deviations
• Preparation of effective forecast models in the area of Operational Variances, Business unit (BU) Overhead and Inventory Valuations
• Fixed Asset monitoring & reporting actual vs budget
• Overall responsibility for the fixed asset and investment projects, including sanction approvals, asset control and verification, activations & disposals.
• Fixed Asset Journal preparation and posting(Including depreciation)
• Balance sheet reconciliations(Fixed Asset register)
• Responsible for the overall preparation of budgeted standard product costs
• Responsibility for approval of supplier payment runs
• Support local management and sales teams with product cost analysis
• Assist in maintaining working capital efficiency through effective management of slow moving and obsolete inventory levels
• Liaison with other operating managers re. results, countermeasures

Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will need to have experience of working in a manufacturing environment and a detailed understanding of costing techniques and variance analysis. You will need to have strong MS Excel skills and SAP/NAV experience would be an advantage. You will ideally be a qualified accountant (CIMA(preferable)/ACCA/ACA).
