We have a fantastic opportunity for an exceptional person to lead our EYFS unit alongside our brand-new nursery in September 2024. The school has been given approval to open a 26-place nursery in our outstanding EYFS unit and we are very excited about this next step in our journey. We are currently taking applications and planning building works to ensure the Environment is inspiring and engaging for the children. We are looking for someone to teach initially in the nursery and to lead the Early years phase. The right person will have drive and determination to make the new nursery an outstanding space for children to start their journey at South Wilford.
South Wilford CE Primary School is a friendly, diverse church school seeking to appoint an inspirational leader to the post of Early Years Foundation Stage Lead. We want to recruit people who are passionate about making a difference to children and want to challenge themselves to keep on improving. South Wilford is a welcoming, forward-thinking school where children and adults are encouraged to be at their best in all they do. We already have a purpose built, engaging and immersive Early Years unit with outstanding teachers and support staff. It also includes an outdoor area and wild meadow garden. The nursery is an extension of this unit and will benefit from the outdoor space as well as use of the forest schools area and farm.
We are a digital school where children have 1:1 iPads and use them to transform and enhance their learning through a global and ethical curriculum. We encourage individuality and place a lot of emphasis on enrichment opportunities. We have an exceptional environment and very supportive families who get involved in all we do.

The right candidate will:
• have the ability to identify and deliver outstanding teaching in EYFS.• Have experience of working in a nursery or reception environment.• Be a collaborative and inspirational leader, with a strong ability to motivate and empower staff and children to achieve their full potential.• Care passionately about children and their development whilst still driving forward pupil progress and achievement.• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build on and maintain strong relationships with staff, parents and carers, children, governors and the local and wider community.• Have the ability to lead on further improving teaching and learning and developing the wider curriculum, including a core subject• Be digitally aware and committed to improving learning through the use of I pads.
