About The Role
Morrison Energy Services is currently looking to recruit a Senior Electrical Estimator to work within our Electrical Distribution business for Clients across the UK.
As a Senior Electrical Estimator you will be part of our Electrical Distribution Business who are responsible for the Design & Delivery of major electrical works and both as one-off projects and within long term framework agreements for the regulated electricity Distribution Network Operators (DNOs).
The DNO sector is a key area of growth for Morrison Energy Services. We are looking to build our existing team to take advantage of the extensive opportunities within the DNO sector within the next price control period (ED2) that will result from not only “business as usual” work activities, but also additional works that will result from the journey to Net Zero.
As the Senior Electrical Estimator your responsibilities will include

- Assessment of bid opportunities leading to agreed bid / no-bid review including assessing key projects and client criteria
- Assess and evaluate any risks and potential problems
- Responsible for checking the accuracy and completeness of client’s tender documents
- Evaluations of options and alternatives
- Assist in the technical and estimating element of preparation of tender and quotations from specification and drawings within defined time periods – In conjunction with Procurements, liaise with Sub-contractors and supplies to obtain the best available quotations
- Review tender documentation and assess a project technically, and being responsible for the overall estimate of cost based upon client specification and technical requirements
- Produce formal handover documentation on accepted work. Attend handover meetings where required and explain project scope, estimate, clarifications and assumptions
- Completion of all company procedure documents and financial information
- Review and peer review all projects with the estimating team
- Post tender presentations with the client
- Work alongside other members of the team to ensure effective deliver of targets

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

- HNC in Electrical Engineering / C&G Qualification or equivalent
- Experience within the DNO sector and non-regulated sectors
- Experienced Engineer with a proven track record in providing technical solutions and costing for an electrical and civil engineering environment
- Knowledge of HV & LV installations and switchgear
- Understanding of DNO G81’s and Client Standards
- Experience estimating for both framework (schedule of rates) and projects
- Strong commercial acumen
- Organised with a high attention to detail
- Understanding of the planning and sequencing of construction projects
- Effective collaborator
- Effective communication skills
- IT Literate
- General knowledge of H&S
