Summary
Corporate Development Officer
The Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist College in Godstone, Surrey. We focus on developing independence skills through performing and visual arts and make dramatic improvements to young disabled adults’ lives.
Set up by musician and songwriter Sir Richard Stilgoe, Orpheus offers learning, supported housing and personal care all on the same site in Godstone, Surrey. We showcase what Orpheus students can offer in the workplace and we challenge the barriers to employment faced by some disabled people.
We are currently seeking an experienced Corporate Development Officer to work closely with the Corporate Partnerships Manager to implement the corporate strategy and significantly grow corporate income over the coming years, in line with our upcoming capital build plans.
This role is pivotal to help Orpheus grow and develop its corporate partnerships and its main focus will be researching and approaching new potential corporate partners to support the work of the Orpheus Centre.
The individual should be an energetic, organised and charismatic individual, with corporate fundraising, business development or cold acquisition experience who is confident building, winning new business and maintaining long-term relationships.
35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year [9:00am – 5:00pm]
(hours may be altered on occasions according to the needs of the curriculum and organisation) – Hybrid working will be considered but there would be an expectation to be in the office (Godstone, Surrey) some of the time.
Salary: £27,000 to 30,000 per annum

Essential qualifications, knowledge, and experience:
5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) or equivalent including Maths and English
At least 1 year experience in fundraising or B2B development
Has worked as part of a team
Has set and worked to budgets, targets and plans
Demonstrable experience of winning new business, especially in the charity sector
Evidence of managing prospect/sales pipelines to achieve income targets
Experience of using a CRM database to monitor and manage contacts, applications, and success against a range of KPIs
Basic awareness of marketing and social media
Excellent oral and written communications including proposals, reports and pitches
High levels of accuracy in written materials and data entry
Ability to work on own initiative and without direct supervision
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
Able to build and maintain good working relationships with people
Able to prioritise, plan and organise own workload including demonstrable experience of managing a diverse workload and working to strict deadlines under pressure
Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
Able and willing to work occasional unsocial hours
