-Greet customers upon entry that make eye contact with you.
-Establish any potential risk to work colleagues.
-Provide a visible, customer friendly deterrent against shop theft.
-Carry out regular patrols (at least 1 per hour) of the high theft areas (as determined with the duty manager)
-Check that till gates are closed when tills are not in use. Report any non-compliance to the Duty Manager
-Check customer bags vs. receipt if the security tagging alarm is triggered.
-Be present at the exit to the SCO area to monitor customer behaviour.
-Must have SIA Door Supervisor or Security guard badge.
-Must have great communication skills.
Main Duties
-Your primary responsibility is to protect work colleagues.
-You should have a highly visible presence on the shopfloor that deters shoplifting and anti-social behaviour and therefore maintains a safe place for employees to work and customers to shop.
-You should always be alert to situations in store that may present a threat to staff, customers, and yourself.
-You should be aware of persons known to cause anti-social disruption in the local area.
-Should anti-social behaviour occur in the store, your role is to de-escalate and calm the situation, requesting that the perpetrator leaves the store immediately, alerting the police as appropriate.
-Do not leave site without Duty manager's permission.
-Immediate risks that are communicated from visitors, customers or employees should be confirmed as quickly as possible.
-Officers must always conduct themselves in a professional manner, in interactions with both work colleagues and the public. When interacting with the public, officers are an extension of the company brand and are expected to be friendly and courteous.
-Record all incidents and actions through the device provided.
-SIA badges must always be displayed.
-Personal phones are not to be used whilst on duty.
-In emergency situations refer to the store procedures and contact your Area Manager at the earliest opportunity.
-You should always undertake your duties as allocated in a safe manner, considering personal safety and that of your colleagues and the public.
-Smoking and vaping should only be carried out during break times as agreed by the Duty Manager. Under no circumstances may you smoke or vape in sight of customers.
-You should report any Health and Safety concerns to the Duty Manager.
-Never accuse anyone of activities that you have not witnessed yourself.
-Officers to always follow ASCONE procedures.
-If you notice that the tagging and alarm systems are not fully operational, you should raise this to the Duty Manager immediately.
What we are looking for

-Have a minimum of 5 years manned guarding, military or police experience.
-Have “Door Supervising or Security Guard” SIA license.
