Summary

Would you like to be part of shaping a brand new team?

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the expansion of the Support to Recovery in Disorder Eating (STRIDES) team - a new talking therapy service for young adults (aged 18-25) with mild to moderate eating disorders.

The ideal candidate has a passion for supporting young adults who are struggling with their eating, is compassionate, enthusiastic, quick to learn, and works very well as part of a team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with young adults, and helping to relieve the burden of eating disorders among this group. We are a friendly, growing and innovative team where your ideas will be welcomed as we shape our new service.

You will get the chance to be part CNWLs excellent Trust-wide CPD for psychologists, attend in-house CPD within Eating Disorder services, develop your supervisory skills, and be part of a large-scale service development from which you will gain experience to develop yourself as a future leader.

You will have a role in the triage and assessment of new referrals to the team. You will be trained to deliver short-term psychological interventions under supervision, and will be part of a supportive team of psychological therapists delivering individual and group therapies. You will help evaluate our service and work on projects to continually improve what we offer.

In the service development phase the postholder will work closely with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Project Delivery Group to develop and deliver a high-quality service, which will be designed to meet the needs of young adults, including early identification, and rapid access to help.

As the service becomes established you will deliver evidence-based eating disorder therapies to individuals and groups, supervise junior staff, and work to build strong community partnerships to promote awareness and proactive management of eating difficulties.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is hoping to pursue a career in clinical psychology. You will be part of a friendly and growing team of nurses and psychological therapists who are all passionate about creating a high-quality service to support young adults.

Our team covers five boroughs so you can expect to your role to include travel, and working with diverse populations in different parts of London.

There are regular CPD events and you will work closely with psychologist colleagues in preparation for a career in psychology.

The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.
