Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, dedicated and innovative Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join our highly experienced and supportive Acute Medical and Front Door Team. This post will provide specialist patient care and treatment on the acute medicals wards and front door areas.

We are looking for an OT or Physio with a special interest in acute and emergency care patients, and experience in the assessment and treatment of these patients. You will have outstanding interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering excellent patient centered care to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Active involvement in training and development of yourself and others is a key requirement. You will participate in service improvement, new models of working, clinical audit, and continued professional development.

Within Acute Therapies we will offer professional support and an individualised job plan which includes protected service development time and regular clinical supervision. There will be opportunities to contribute to wider departmental developments via working party groups and signposting and support for continuous professional development.

You will be expected to contribute to the weekend working service and, our emergency respiratory on-call rota.

Provide clinical/ treatment to acute patients within the scope of Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy.

Assist in planning, monitoring and implementing clinical service policies and patient care pathways.

Be actively involved in developing teaching and training programmes for therapy staff.

Keep up to date with developments in acute medicine and emergency care, supporting audit to evaluate practice and participating in research as appropriate.

Work with all team disciplines to develop flexible inter-disciplinary / multi-agency work practices which enhance outcomes for patients.

Undertake a clinical case load, to a high professional standard, using knowledge from theoretical and practical experience.

You will take an active involvement in the development of the services which includes development of clinical protocols and guidelines, appraisal, training and development.

You will be expected to participate in the supervision of junior Occupational Therapists/Physiotherapists, Integrated Therapy Assistants and students.

Good problem solving skills, time management skills and self motivation are essential. The roles will involve you undertaking work in a 7 day service working within a rolling rota and evening working on a rota.

As part of the weekend service you may be required to support additional areas.

As a Physiotherapist, you will be expected to work as part of the emergency on-call respiratory service.

We offer IST, Professional Supervision, PDR and CPD opportunities.

All applicants must be HCPC registered

As this post requires travel across the East Lancashire area the applicant must hold a current driving license with access to their own transport.

The successful applicant will be required to provide a degree of flexibility in terms of specific areas of work, the remit of their role and their base subject to service requirements.
