Summary

Role: Family Support Worker (known internally as SHS Practitioner)
Location: Eastbury Community School, Hulse Avenue, Barking. IG11 9UW.
Hours: 5 days per week term time only - 35 hours per week
Salary: £25,003 – £27,525 per annum (actual salary)
Closing date: 10am on Thursday 30th May
Interview dates: First interviews will be held on a rolling basis, with a second interview TBC

This is a 12 months Contract Fixed Term Contract.

Our mission at School-Home Support is simple. We get children and young people
back in school ready to learn, whatever it takes.

We are looking for a Family Support Worker to join our team and to make a difference in children's lives every single day. As the Family Support Worker, you will work in close partnership with school staff to deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and their families we support. You will also focus your support to help improve attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.

You will have excellent relationship building and communications skills with a proven ability to communicate with a wide group of people.

You’ll have previous experience of:

● working and engaging with parents, carers or guardians, children or individuals
through individual and/or group-based support
● working in an educational or outreach environment
● working effectively with social and emotional factors affecting a child’s capacity to
learn
● working with families from diverse communities
