Summary


We have an exciting opportunity to join our Trust as Deputy Chief Operating Officer. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Deputy COO will be responsible for the operational management and delivery of the Trust Elective Recovery programme, for RTT, Cancer and Diagnostics standards. They will play a key role as a system leader across the elective pathway and will work closely with colleagues across commissioning, Primary Care Networks, and Cancer Alliances to deliver clinically effective care and sustainable services.

AS DCOO, you will be responsible for the transformation of patient pathways, recovery and sustainability. This will include visible, collaborative leadership and support to the clinical divisions to deliver transformation, efficiency and quality improvement across elective services. In addition you will play a key role in overseeing the implementation of new services, such as the Community Diagnostic Centre, and will ensure that operationally, the Trust is well positioned to delivery our long-term strategy.

We are looking to speak with motivated, compassionate, and resilient leaders with extensive leadership experience in an NHS healthcare provider setting. You will have an excellent track record of delivery at a senior operational level plus evidence of success in elective recovery, RTT and Cancer. You will be confident and comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels and be expected to establish and maintain relationships which enable the Trust to operate effectively with clinicians, managers and partners focused on improving outcomes and services to patients.

The Deputy Chief Operating Officer (DCOO) for Planned Careis responsible, through the divisions and corporate teams, for the delivery of the Trust Elective Recovery Programme and national standards for Referral to Treatment, Cancer and Diagnostic standards.

A key role as a system leader across the elective pathway and will work with colleagues across commissioning, Primary Care Networks, and Cancer Alliances to deliver clinically effective care and sustainable services.

As Deputy Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the transformation of patient pathways, recovery and sustainable delivery of the national access standards, quality of care and liaison with the Cancer Alliance and Planned Care Leads within the ICS. This will include leadership of the elective pathways and supporting the clinical divisions to deliver transformation, efficiency and quality improvement across elective services.

Oversee the implementation of new services, such as the Community Diagnostic Centre, and will ensure that operationally, the trust is positioned to successfully deliver the longer term strategy for the trust.

Deputy to the Chief Operating Officer and required to lead on key areas of improvement or development across the full remit of the Chief Operating Officer portfolio.

The emphasis on clinically led, managerially enabled will be at the forefront of senior leadership within the operational culture.
