Summary


The Dorset All Age Community Eating disorders service has an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Practitioner in Eating Disorders. You will have the option of being based at Trinity Court in Dorchester or our temporary base at Spring Court on the Kings Park Hospital site, until March 2027 when the service will return to the St Ann’s Hospital site.

You will hold a relevant professional qualification and be joining the team offering evidenced based interventions, ensuring the highest standards of care for people of all ages with an eating disorder, their family/carers. A principal role is to assess, plan and implement evidence-based interventions and care to promote recovery from eating disorders. The post holder will hold their own caseload and work closely with all other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Although we are an all-age service, we welcome applications from practitioners who may prefer to focus on working with children or adults.

Experience of delivering NICE concordant eating disorders treatment is advantageous. We will support and facilitate your development, tailored to your learning needs and experience.

The team will provide evidence based intensive intervention to people with an ED, adults and their families/carers.

The principal role is in partnership with people with an ED, families and carers to assess, plan and implement nursing interventions and care to promote recovery from eating disorders.

The post holder will hold their own caseload, supported by the consultant psychiatrist and clinical lead, and work closely with all other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

A key secondary role is in liaison and joint working with other professionals, especially members of CAMHS, General Practice, LEA/schools, residential units and Adult Mental Health to maintain effective continuity of care and to widen awareness of the complexities involved in the management and treatment of Eating Disorders.
