Summary

At Access Ability, we provide specialist support for young adults with Autism and learning disabilities.
As a Skills Mentor, you will make a real difference to young people lives and independent skills. We are looking for people to join our specialist disability team, who are committed, caring and enthusiastic.
We are looking for someone who has experience of support work and is committed to supporting individuals to develop independence and life skills.

As part of this role, you will join a small specialist team, dedicated to provide activities that expand experiences, raise aspirations and build skills.
What will I be doing?
Supporting individuals to develop independence and life skills
Supporting people during a range of activities within our centre and out in the community
Assisting people to achieve daily goals & daily activities
Assisting with the development of person centred plans
This includes work experience and employment opportunities
Maintaining records and updating risk assessments
Supporting people in undertaking daily activities or development

What skills and qualities do I need to have?
Whilst knowledge of Autism and learning disabilities would be beneficial, it isn’t essential. What is essential is that you are:
Passionate, caring and enthusiastic
Flexible patient and non-judgemental
A great team player
Able to demonstrate good communication skills
Having a driving licence is essential
