Summary

The hours of work of this role are usually Tuesday to Thursday, variable hours between 2.30 pm and 6.00 pm, as required.

Key Activities
To provide cover in absence of Caretaker (Monday to Friday, variable hours between 2.30 pm and 9.00 pm, as required).
To act as designated Keyholder
To ensure the health, safety and security of staff and centre users at all times
To conduct regular checks of the premises and equipment, identifying and/or arranging repairs and/or maintenance in conjunction with the Project Development Manager
To ensure that all fire equipment and instructions are in the correct place, well maintained and hazard free
To prepare rooms for use by different groups and organisations and provide practical assistance at functions
To work under the discretion of the Project Manager to ensure that the building is ready to be used by groups and organisations as and when required
To undertake tasks such as room set ups (where applicable) for renters/users
To ensure that the building and grounds are kept free from refuse and hazardous materials
To ensure store rooms are kept in a safe and orderly condition
To carry out minor repairs and decoration
To lock and set the alarm on the building on closure, including all internal doors and windows and carry out all other tasks necessary for secure closure of premises
Operate external lighting, as necessary
To greet and direct the public accessing the building
To be a prominent and approachable figure for all renting units and assist all centre users/renting units to experience an efficient and enjoyable renting experience
To carry out other reasonable duties designated by the Project Manager

Responsibilities

Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to health and safety, safeguarding, security and confidentiality etc; reporting all concerns to the Project Manager
Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the centre
Appreciate and support the role of other staff and volunteers
Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required, e.g. first aid, health and safety
Treat all centre users with courtesy and consideration
Present a positive personal image, contributing to a welcoming environment which supports equal opportunities for all
Comply with health and safety policies and procedures at all times
