We are looking for a Locum post for a Consultant General Urologist with an interest in prostate cancer.

We are looking for a candidate who can pick up general urology and prostate cancer clinics, diagnostics including LATP and template biopsy as well dedicated inpatient and day case theatre sessions. There will be no on call commitment. The job plan for this post will vary dependent on the departments needs but there is scope to discuss with the candidate regarding job plan / working pattern

The main duties of the role will be be to undertake prostate cancer outpatient clinics and support the overall prostate pathway as well as general urology dependent on experience. This may include cancer diagnostic procedures such as template biopsies, LATP and flexible cystoscopy.

A full range of Urology emergency and elective patients are admitted to Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and the appointee will be responsible for the management of those patients admitted under his/her care.



Provision with Consultant colleagues of a comprehensive elective Urology service.



Provision of reciprocal cover for periods of leave.



Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge and the proper functioning of the department.



These duties are subject to review from time to time in the light of the changing requirements of the service. If alterations to the described duties are required these will be mutually agreed between the appointee, his/her Consultant colleagues, and the Trust.



The person appointed will be required to devote substantially the whole of his/her time to the duties of the post and give them priority at all times
