Summary
Disrepair/Damp Surveyor
Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Disrepair/Damp Surveyor to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out thorough inspections and surveys of residential and commercial properties to identify and assess disrepair and damp issues. This role requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong knowledge of building construction and maintenance.
As a Disrepair/Damp Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in identifying underlying causes of disrepair and dampness, and providing recommendations for remedial actions. You will work closely with property owners and other stakeholders to ensure that necessary repairs are carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner. Additionally, you will be responsible for writing comprehensive reports detailing your findings and recommendations.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of building regulations and health and safety guidelines. They should also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as they will be required to effectively communicate complex technical information to clients. This is a demanding role that requires the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough inspections and surveys of residential and commercial properties to identify disrepair and damp issues
Assess the extent and causes of disrepair and dampness, using appropriate equipment and diagnostic techniques
Provide expert advice and recommendations for remedial actions to property owners and other stakeholders
Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, recommendations, and cost estimates for repairs
Collaborate with contractors and other professionals to ensure that repairs are carried out to the highest standard
Keep up-to-date with industry developments and best practices for disrepair and damp management
Provide guidance and support to property owners and tenants on maintenance and prevention of disrepair and damp issues
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying or a related field
Proven experience as a Disrepair/Damp Surveyor
Solid knowledge of building construction and maintenance
Familiarity with building regulations and health and safety guidelines
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in the use of surveying equipment and diagnostic tools
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different sites as needed.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 08:00
End Time: 16:00
