Summary

Mechanical Fitter

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter with a background in Mechanical Assembly to join our clients team located in Croydon. The ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of Mechanical Equipment and a proven track record of excellence in their field.

Package Details

Hours: Monday to Thursday - 07:00 - 15:00, and Friday, 07:00 - 13:30 (36.5hr working week)
Salary range: £29k - £34k per annum (dependent on experience).

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct overhauls of mechanical equipment within a workshop environment.
  • Perform mechanical fitting, assembly, strip, survey, and testing activities.
  • Interpret drawings, identify components, and assemble or repair mechanical equipment accordingly.
  • Uphold high standards of quality and efficiency in all tasks.
  • Demonstrate versatility by carrying out testing, basic wiring, and mechanical fitting as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Complete technical documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.


Professional Experience & Education:

  • Minimum five years of experience in mechanical fitting, preferably with rotating equipment.
  • Proficiency in working to strict quality standards such as ISO9001 and RISAS.
  • Preferably, time-served apprentice trained with relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering.
  • Familiarity with safety systems like Risk Assessments and COSHH Assessments is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and waste reduction strategies is beneficial.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing demands.
  • Flexibility to meet customer requirements.
