Oakwood is a specialised unit for adults with acquired brain injuries in Offerton, Stockport. You will be providing support to individuals with brain injuries or related neurological conditions. Collaborating with our physiotherapy team, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapists, and Neuropsychologist, you will ensure the accomplishment of goals and interventions set by our therapy team.

Our Service Users have acquired brain injuries and/or physical disabilities that may pose challenges to independence, but they all share the desire to make their own choices, create lasting friendships, and make lifelong memories. As a Support Worker for a reputable charity, you will play an integral role in making that happen.

As some Service Users are non-verbal and immobile, you may assist Team Leaders with medical interventions. Personal care and medical appointments may also be a part of this role. However, for the rest of the day, the individuals take the lead. Working together with our Service Users, you will help create a weekly plan that includes daily activities, therapy sessions, outings, and meal planning.

Prior experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, or Healthcare Assistant is desirable, but not mandatory, as we offer comprehensive training and induction programmes to get you up to speed in your new role!
