Summary

Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is continuing its digital and clinical transformation journey that will change the way in which we deliver care across Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly, and the South West Peninsula. eCare, the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Programme will underpin everything we do for our patients, our people, and our communities.

The Digital Training Deputy Manager will report to the Digital Training Manager. You will be part of a Training Team with approximately 20 staff who will be training, educating and coaching staff on the digital systems across Cornwall. This role will provide managerial resource to the team and help manage and deliver business as usual and eCare training.

Secondments from existing Trust employees into this fixed term role are welcomed and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Applicants should expect to be primarily office based at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske site, Truro but travel to other sites may be necessary.

Unfortunately, due to budgetary constraints we are unable us to support visa sponsorship for this role.

The recruiting panel will therefore only be able to consider applications from candidates that already possess the right to work in the UK for the duration of the eCare programme.

The post holder will be a member of the Digital Training Team and will provide training, education and coaching to staff using clinical and application systems used within the Cornwall Health Community:

To oversee and contribute to the creation and improvement of training materials such as eLearning, courses and user guides used to deliver and support flexible training solutions

Manage a small team within the Digital Training Team

Support other members of the integration team in a project support and testing role

Plan, design and organise the training aspects of the clinical, business and project related work

Be responsible for ensuring that daily tasks are completed and issues escalated where appropriate

The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT) is the main provider of acute and specialist care services in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We serve a population of around 500,000 people - a figure that can increase significantly with visitors during the busiest times of the year. We employ approximately 6,700 staff and have a budget of approximately £580 million.

We are a teaching hospital in partnership with the University of Exeter Medical School, University of Plymouth School of Nursing and Midwifery, and Peninsula Dental School.

The Knowledge Spa on the Royal Cornwall Hospital site is the base for medical and nursing as well as ongoing education for health professions in clinical and non-clinical roles.

Keeping at the forefront of medical advances, we are continually developing our clinical services as well as our facilities and are committed to maximising the range of specialist care that can be offered locally. Allied to this is a growing reputation for research and innovation.

The trainer will have excellent knowledge and extensive use of both clinical patient administration systems and Microsoft Office products. Working with members of the training team, the successful candidate will be delivering quality, consistent and professional IT training to staff in both clinical and non-clinical applications. You will also be responsible for designing training plans, course support materials, end user guides, as well as developing innovative ways of delivery and engaging learners.

You will also be responsible for managing a section of the training team.
