We have 7 state of the art theatres in Chelsea with three surgical robots. We also have 2 theatres in Sutton, totalling 9 across the trust. Our recovery suite consists of 14 beds that include Day cases, inpatients and HDU cases that stay one night in HDU and then onto wards. We are recruiting for a highly motivated leadership team to join our multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will have an experienced clinical theatre background as well as a keen interest in managing, developing and educating staff. We strive for excellence in all that we do and value the importance of reflection, critical thinking and promote professional development.

1.1 To be a professional and clinical role model, leading and co-ordinating theatres and recovery in conjunction with the Matron. To co-ordinate, organise and take full responsibility and accountability for the daily management and organisation of theatres recovery services at Chelsea site; this involves managing a wide range of complex and sometimes conflicting priorities including staff management.

1.2 As the clinical lead, perform all the tasks of an ODP/Theatre Nurse in recovery for adults, following all checks and procedures as laid down in National and Trust Theatre Policy. To demonstrate sound knowledge base of safe governance and practices in recovery.

1.3 As a member of the recovery team to perform the tasks of recovery, to support staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team

1.4 To be responsible for the safe use of complex theatre and recovery equipment with responsibility for ordering stock and non-stock supplies and arranging timely servicing of this equipment, both routine and urgent.

1.5 To be responsible for the continuing specialist professional development and overall performance of all staff in Chelsea Theatres Recovery team.

2.1 To provide sound clinical leadership and develop support mechanisms for sharing good practice within the Department and Trust wide

2.2 Monitor the quality of clinical care and action audit information to achieve agreed standards and take the lead on customer care initiatives.

2.3 Takes the lead in ensuring the provision of care is in accordance with the Trust’s policies and procedures.

2.4 In conjunction with the staff team, to lead in developing implementing, evaluating and maintaining a Departmental ethos and a standard approach to the delivery of excellent patient centred care.

2.5 To act as patient advocate in line with current guidance and to actively apply in depth knowledge of holistic/ socio-economic and cultural aspects of the care to clients within your specific speciality, acting as a role model and resource for patients, relatives and staff.
