Become a Support Worker

What matters to the people we support matters to us. It’s their life, their way.

We are looking for a female support woker to join our team supporting a gentleman in his own home in West Malling, Kent.

You will be working in his home, so it’s important you can connect, share interests and be interested. So if you enjoy going for drives out, visiting the Cinema and Theatre. Popping out for coffee and shopping we want to hear from you. From making a cuppa on their own to finding their place in community, the people we support have their own goals to shoot for and milestones to reach – big or small.

So if you enjoy building meaningful relationships and think you could plan, communicate and deliver support with and alongside people, then this is the place for you.

This gentleman has his own vehicle, so you will need to be a driver and willing to drive his car. For this you should have a full UK manual driving licence and have held it for at least 1 year for insurance purposes.

For this role you would need to work long days 7am - 10pm (15 hours) We can offer part time or fulltime roles.

"Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010".

Affinity Trust does not presently hold a Sponsorship Licence and while this status is reviewed regularly there is no present proposal to apply for such a Licence

Why Join Us?

What will we do?

We will train you in everything you need to be a great Support Worker. We will apply and pay for your enhanced DBS, and we have a mentorship scheme in place to provide support and guide you on your journey with us.

We offer Wagestream - a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it, access to coaching, vouchers, discounts, cashback and more.

You will be entitled to annual leave with the ability to buy additional leave.

Fully funded health cash plans giving you access to a 24 hour GP, money back on prescriptions, dental treatment, opticians and access to many more health benefits.

We provide a package of benefits that make it that bit easier to be your best and we can also support you to achieve a Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care and pursue a career that takes on more responsibility.

What will you do?

Supporting people is really important but it’s not all trips out and watching films. We also support people to make healthy lifestyle choices and maintain their home in a way they feel safe and well.

It sounds exciting to say no two days will be the same, but in support, sometimes they are. Sometimes people like routine and struggle with change… But when you support someone to try something new – what a feeling!
