An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Adult Safeguarding Team. We are looking for a Team Manager to lead this highly skilled team. As part of this role, you will manage the Adults Safeguarding, DOLS and Corporate Appointee Teams and oversee all legal intervention cases. You will also be acting as the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) for Adult Social Care. You will be reporting to the Service Manager for AMHP and Statutory Services.

To be considered for this post, you need to be a Qualified Social Worker (SWE Registration essential) with a Best Interests Assessor Qualification. You must have at least 5 years' experience of working in a Health & Social Care setting and some experience of supervising staff and managing performance and budgets. You should have experience of working in the fields of Safeguarding, DOLS and Court of Protection, with excellent knowledge of the Care Act; s.42 Safeguarding Enquiries and Making Safeguarding Personal; the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS); Deputyship; and any other relevant Social Care Legislation. You will work closely with colleagues in other departments and wider agencies in order to safeguard vulnerable adults in welfare and financial matters.

You will become part of a very stable, award-winning team, where we provide the opportunity for you to grow and develop and join a very innovative and supportive service. The team is busy, but every case is different, and you will be able to draw on a wealth of knowledge and experience from your senior management team, as well as our wider teams. We have adopted the Community Led Support Approach and all our teams work as one big team, in a person-centred way, with the focus being on building on the strengths of the person and the community around them. Working from Civic offices or our community hubs and flexible working is supported, and we guarantee that you will enjoy this innovative way of working.

Adult Social Care at Thurrock Council has so much to offer you, and we look forward to seeing what you can offer Adult Social Care.

Note: Please ensure that you look at the persons specification in the job description - your personal statement in your job application should clearly evidence how you meet all the essential requirements for this position. If this is not evident, your application may not be progressed to the interview stage.

The post will be a permanent position of 37 hours per week. Other employee benefits are available and can be discussed further at your interview. For an informal discussion please call Elmari Bishop on 01375 659810 or 07872 009804.
