Summary

PERMANENT ROLE – £33,953.40 PER ANNUM

Wincanton is offering the opportunity for an experienced Class 1 Driver to join our delivery team out of Middlewich. Delivering to Howdens depots driving a curtain-sided vehicle with multi-drop work with no manual lifting, strapping, and unstrapping of loads ready for the customer to take off at stores and ensuring the loads are secured correctly and that the goods are delivered on time, offloaded correctly and paperwork is signed with any agreed asset collected to be returned.

  • £33,953.40 per annum
  • Monday to Friday
  • 06:00 start time
  • 45 hours per week
  • Overtime after 45 hours per week worked
  • 28 days annual leave incl. bank holidays

How will you contribute

  • You will be responsible for the accurate and timely movement and delivery of our customers’ products
  • Ensuring all documentation is completed accurately with attention to detail.
  • Adhering to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times.
  • Complying with all relevant legislation in line with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive requirements (opt out available).
  • Responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and others, completion of dynamic risk assessments, adhering to safe working practices and the Health & Safety at Work Act, including accident, incident, and damage reporting.
  • To ensure contractual KPI’s over delivery of product is undertaken in both a legally compliant and health and safety manne
  • Attending any relevant training as required to ensure you remain fully equipped to perform your role effectively and to assist in the development of continuous improvement.
  • Keep the vehicle you use clean, tidy, and well cared for, so it is ready to be used the next day

What will you bring?

  • Must have valid Class 1 licence Must have valid CPC
  • Must hold Digital Tachograph card
  • Must not have more than 6 points on licence
  • Must have a minimum 2 years HGV driving experience
  • Possess excellent customer facing awareness skills
  • Good timekeeper and able to work unsupervised
  • Must be fully flexible on working hours
  • Enthusiastic and reliable with a commitment to delivering first class customer service
  • Must have good communication skills and a flexible can-do attitude to work
  • Must have a good geographical knowledge
