THE ROLE

We are expanding and on the lookout for a motivated and experienced tax technician to join our team with a view to you enjoying a long and fulfilling career with us.

In this role you will work on projects for a wide range of clients across various industries, providing essential financial support and guidance.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

- Self-assessment personal and corporation tax returns
- Support tax planning activities, identifying opportunities for tax savings
- Work closely with clients to gather information and ensure accurate representation in tax documents
- Collaborate with the tax team to analyse complex tax issues and develop strategic solutions
- Conduct thorough research on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide accurate advice.
- Preparation and review of VAT returns
- Advising and working closely with a range of clients from large corporations to sole traders.
- Supporting the wider team, leading on ad hoc projects, and reviewing/improving internal work efficiencies

Full time hours 9.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday. The role can be flexible on hours - both part time and full-time applications will be considered.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

- The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role.
- An ATT or AAT qualification (or working towards) is desirable – study support available.
- Be on track to achieve or have already achieved a minimum of two B’s at A-Level or above
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (particularly, Excel).
- A track record of using industry software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and Iris products is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy working with numbers.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
- Be able to work from our office in Teesside.
