An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a committed, forward thinking and enthusiastic ContinenceFull-timeNurse Advisor with energy, self-motivation and drive to work withinthe team covering the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster on a 6-month maternity leave cover.

This post will be suitable for a Senior Community Staff Nurse to further develop and enhance their skills, knowledge and competencies in managing patients with continence care needs.

This post supports the delivery of safe and effective services for patients with promotion of continence needs. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the lead clinicians to provide support and advice to the community nursing teams.

You will have the opportunity to be involved in research-based continence management and will support the implementation of best practice. You will be well supported by lead clinicians; will work as part of the team and independently to further develop the service and implement evidence based practice. You will be in possession of recent professional development and have/willing to undertake recognised qualifications in promotion of continence

To assess, treat and review clients with bladder and or bowel dysfunction according to NICE Guidelines relating to bladder and bowel dysfunction.

To perform investigations including ultrasound bladder scanning, urine testing, uroflowmetry, Digital Rectal Examination and pelvic floor muscle assessment demonstrating and maintaining competence at a specialist level

To manage a caseload of clients who require specialist continence nursing care.

To organise nurse-led clinics to reflect local needs.

To refer clients on to other specialist clinicians for further investigations and/or treatment as appropriate

To work in collaboration with GPs and other clinicians in planning and delivering care
