The Opportunity:

This Research Associate position will contribute to the LUCENT project within the Institute of Materials and Processes at the University of Edinburgh, which is funded by EPSRC and in collaboration with colleagues at The University of Texas, Austin and CSIRO, Australia. This role is UE07 and is available on a fixed term basis for up to 24 months. In this project, the RA will have the opportunity to lead the development of novel microporous organic polymers for unlocking solar driven capture and conversion of greenhouse gases into liquid fuels.

Your skills and attributes for success:

Expertise in developing and characterising microporous crystalline framework polymers
Expertise in photo-chemistry or carbon capture and conversion
Expertise in organic synthesis of ligands for framework polymers
Demonstrated ability to work independently, but in synergy with the rest of the interdisciplinary team
Aptitude for leading and driving the delivery of novel materials science to innovate chemical engineering and willingness to learn new skills related and required for project
