Summary


The successful applicant will support the imaging department in particular Interventional Radiology Theatres at the City campus, the position may require that on occasions you work at the QMC campus. You will be the primary link between Radiology and the wards. You will liaise with the nurses, radiographers and other patient transfer staff to ensure patients’ needs and welfare are attended to. You will assist the department by preparing the patient for imaging. A large part of this post will involve manual handling, including the transfer of patients on beds, trolleys and wheelchairs. You will need to be computer literate.

All training for this role will be provided within NUH. This post will be predominantly weekday days with occasional additional work out of hours as required by the service.

The successful applicant needs to be approachable and enthusiastic about this role. You will need to be able to cope emotionally and physically with working with patients.



Transfer of patients to and from the wards to the radiology department. Communicate with patients and staff to ensure a smooth transition of transfers. Provide a friendly face to patients as radiology's first point of contact. Undertake other movement transfer of waste and equipment.

The radiology team is a friendly team working with a large volume of patients. Staff work in a timely manner to achieve quality diagnostic scans and procedures ensuring patients are at the centre of the radiology pathway.

Transfer of patients from wards to the Radiology department. Provide a friendly face to all patients. Maintain professional/caring approach as the first point of contact for Radiology. Assist staff in other duties as required. Communicate effectively with all grades of staff.
