Summary
Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to be office based in Inverness as well as site based throughout the local area. Full time or part time hours will be considered, minimum 3 days per week.
This is a varied role and duties include:
Operate as a focal point for all Health, Safety activities both in house and on site
Liaise with Site Managers to ensure compliance with all HSE requirements.
Support Managers with incident investigation, keeping appropriate and up to date records.
Keep records of inspections findings and recommend improvements.
Implementing actions to meet requirements.
Undertake site inspections and provide feedback.
Actively support the health & safety induction process including on site.
Oversee training as required.
Assist Managers in producing risk assessments, ensuring all activities have been risk assessed. Ensure proactive reporting.
Management of all computerised and hard copy records.
Updating training records including expiration dates.
Managing all required site access documents.
Document Management of all HSE documentation.
Updating equipment and testing registers.
Preparation of Site safety files.
Maintenance of building fire alarm testing.
Person Specification
H&S qualification (NEBOSH/BSC/SVQ)
Industry experience with construction/trade background preferred.
Experience of implementing HSE management systems.
Experience of risk assessments (General / COSHH / Fire / Unplanned Events).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail in all record keeping.
Excellent IT skills
