Detention Custody Officer - Immigration Services - Stansted Airport
Job Description
Working as a DCO within our team will provide you with the opportunity to maintain high standards of security and safety whilst promoting the welfare and decency of residents . This is a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. As you gain experience within this challenging role, we'll support you throughout your time to grow and develop. Your new role as DCO will be escorting residents to flights and involve looking after the welfare of residents in our holding facility all based at the airport.
Salary and Working Hours
-Salary £30,002.96 per annum
-42 hours per week days/nights
-4 on 4 off shift pattern will cover both days and nights. Full flexibility will be required as this is a 24- hour service, 365 days a year.
-Free Airport Parking.
We are looking to fill a training courses throughout the year. You must be available for all dates of this 4 week course.
You must be over 21 and have held a full UK manual car driving license for a year to be successful for this post. You must hold a British Passport or EU passport with Share Code. You must have lived and worked in the UK for the past three years with no extended trips overseas. You must have no unspent criminal convictions. You must consent to full background checks in order to be issued with a CTC clearance and enhanced DBS.
Qualifications
Being a Detention Custody Officer demands the people's skills, patience, resilience and professionalism to handle an ever-changing day. Our people come from a variety of backgrounds, you will have the communication and interpersonal skills to support colleagues, work together in teams and deliver an exceptional service to our residents. Previous experience of dealing with sensitively in a wide variety of people who have been agitated, confused or angry would be an advantage. Excellent problem-solving skills in addition to having the ability to keep calm under pressure will be key to developing your Care & Custody career.
Training
Once you have passed our selection and vetting process, you'll begin your Care & Custody career completing a 4-week initial training course (ITC), continuing your development over the next 12 months with on the job mentoring and assessments to gain our accredited Level 3 apprenticeship in Detention and Custody.
