Summary
I am a single dad who needs support with everyday life.
I have been diagnosed with terminal skin and bone cancer. I also have stenosis of the spine, which I had surgery for a couple of years ago, and brittle bone disease along with 36 other health conditions. This includes Potts, which means I pass out at random times when stood up or if I overexert myself. I have severe nerve damage from the left knee down and a drop foot. I get constant chest infections and am very tired most of the time. When I am out of the house I use my wheelchair, but at home I can get about using support from walls and kitchen sides.
Some days are better than others and I do what I can, my boys are also very good and will help, but I want them to enjoy being young teenage boys. I need someone with a good attitude who is happy to get stuck in and help with all parts of the job.
We have a dog and 2 cats in our home.
I am looking for a personal assistant to support me through the week with:
- Daily household cleaning
- Reminding and helping me to keep on top of my appointments
- Helping me to take my boys to and from school
- Helping with our dog and cat (i.e. cleaning up after them or taking the dog for a walk)
I try to spend weekends with my boys, going to different sports and out and about; a driving licence and using your own car will be required.
Essential
- Comfortable with the fact I smoke in my bedroom
- Experience of working with children / domestic help
- Driving licence and own car
- Good communication
- Good attitude towards children and animals
Desirable
- Enjoys sport
- Cooking experience
- Flexible to pre-arranged changes in shift times.
