We are seeking a compassionate and diligent Housekeeper to assist an elderly man and his adult son who has disabilities. This part-time role encompasses a broad range of activities aimed at improving the quality of life of the family. There is a potential for this position to evolve into a live-in role, which would include rent and bill-free accommodation within the home. Role Overview:

  • 5-hour shift for Housekeeping: Responsibilities include thorough cleaning, laundry, ironing, and maintaining an organised living environment. Tasks will cover vacuuming, dusting, and general tidiness across the home.

  • 3-hour shift for Grocery Shopping: You will handle the shopping needs of the household at local markets and supermarkets, ensuring the cupboards stay well-stocked with healthy, high-quality products that meet the dietary preferences of the household, particularly focusing on West African cuisine.

  • 3-hour shift for Cooking: Prepare daily meals that are nutritious and culturally appropriate, with a particular emphasis on West African dishes. This includes meal planning, ingredient prep, and cooking.


Requirements:

  • Experience and Skills: Ideal candidates will have previous experience in housekeeping and a solid background in cooking West African cuisine. Ability to maintain a clean and orderly home and proficient cooking skills are essential.
  • Personal Qualities: Kindness, compassion, patience, and understanding are crucial in this role to effectively support the unique needs of our clients. Your presence should bring structure and a sense of calm to their home.
  • Transportation: A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle are necessary for running errands and potential client appointments.
  • Cultural Fit: A preference for those with a West African cultural background to align with the household’s cultural and dietary practices.
