We are looking for a well organised individual to ensure effective customer service is provided to our registration stakeholders and customers. Duties for the post include working as part of a multi-functional Customer Service Team providing high quality customer focused service delivery across a range of services through a variety of channels including telephone, face to face and electronic methods.

It is essential that you have experience in customer service (Face to Face or Telephone), Previous experience of working in a Registrar’s Office and presiding at ceremonies, events or gathering and carrying out a wide range of Registration duties, which include but not restricted to, registering Births, Marriages, Civil Partnerships and Deaths.

You must be able to handle sensitive situations in a calm and discrete manner, have previous experience of working in a Local Authority and experience of working in a team environment.

Due to the nature of this role, you must be Intuitive and alert to situations that may compromise the legal requirements of the Registration process and able to handle appropriately.

Knowledge of standard computer software packages (e.g Microsoft office, FER). and previous use of a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) application are essential.

It is desirable if you have gained The Certificate of Proficiency in the Law and Practice of Registration examination and you have an SVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent.

Practical experience of National Records of Scotland and Tell Us Once operating systems is also desirable.
