Summary
The Speech and Language Therapy team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay have a new and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join the SLT team at the RLI, working as part of the MDT supporting patients on the Stroke pathway.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, supportive Speech & Language Therapy Team at Royal Lancaster Infirmary who are experienced in offering support for newly qualified Speech and Language Therapists, or developing your skills and interests if you already have experience.
Our team has a “grow your own” approach with many members of the team having joined as newly qualified SLTs, being supported to be progress to more specialist and senior roles throughout their careers.
As band 5 SLT, Ideally you will have undertaken dysphagia training and have some experience of working in an acute setting. You will be a team player and confident of working in a busy multidisciplinary team.
We will support you to complete your newly qualified SLT and dysphagia competencies.

We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
