Position Title: AdministratorPosition Details Permanent contract Part Time: 26.5 hours/week Salary Range and Details: Administration 3A - GRADE PT5-8 - £23,500 to £24,711. Following the retirement of our longstanding post holder, we are looking to appoint a School Office Administrator/Secretary. At St. John the Baptist V.A. School, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and caring Christian environment where every child is valued and supported in their academic journey. As our Primary School Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our school office. Your friendly demeanour, excellent communication skills and ability to multitask will be essential in fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for pupils, parents, visitors and staff alike. Responsibilities: • Extend a warm and caring welcome to visitors, parents, and members of the school community, providing assistance and support with a compassionate attitude. • Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence, responding promptly and directing inquiries to the appropriate staff members. • Maintain accurate records and attendance data, demonstrating attention to detail and confidentiality in handling sensitive information inline with GDPR procedures. • Coordinate administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and organising meetings, ensuring effective communication among our stakeholders. • Assist in the organisation of school events and activities, including charity events. • Maintain and update safeguarding systems e.g. DBS checks, recruitment procedures and the Single Central Record. • Handle financial transactions with integrity and transparency, including processing payments, managing petty cash and maintaining financial records ready for audits. • Collaborate closely with staff and volunteers to promote a caring and inclusive school culture grounded in Christian values. Requirements: • Previous experience in office administration or a similar role, preferably within an educational setting. • Genuine compassion for others and a commitment to fostering a caring and supportive environment rooted in Christian values. • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with empathy and understanding. • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask efficiently in a compassionate and service-oriented manner. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with school management software is essential.
