Summary

Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Development Project Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of housing schemes across the Yorkshire and Humber region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the development process, from site acquisition and feasibility studies to project delivery and handover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of new housing schemes from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Identify and evaluate potential development opportunities, conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments to inform decision-making.
  • Manage the acquisition of land and property, negotiating contracts and agreements with landowners, developers, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and local authorities to secure planning permission and navigate regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, monitoring costs and expenditure throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate the design and construction phases of development projects, overseeing contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and timelines.
  • Implement effective project management methodologies and reporting systems to track progress, identify risks, and resolve issues proactively.
  • Liaise with residents, community groups, and other stakeholders to engage and consult on development proposals, addressing concerns and promoting positive relationships.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Construction Management, Real Estate Development, Urban Planning) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing residential development projects, ideally within the housing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of the development process, including land acquisition, planning, design, and construction.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices related to housing development and planning.
  • Experience working in the Yorkshire and Humber region and familiarity with local market dynamics and stakeholders is desirable.
