Summary
The post holder will support our inpatient areas as an Apprentice Health Care Assistant whilst undertaking a level 3 Health care support worker Apprenticeship over 24 months. Please note apprentices will be expected to travel to Kendal College - Westmorland Campus, Milnthorpe Road, Kendal, Cumbria, LA9 5AY for a minimum of 1 day per month for the face to face knowledge delivery of the apprenticeship programme. The course will require learners to complete online learning, assignments, work based learning and all mandatory learning elements of the apprenticeship programme including completion of end point assessment. The post holder will be supported to develop their skills and experience in an inpatient settings to: Work as an integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), working within a rotational shift system to support patients according to their care needs, some of whom may present with problematic or challenging behaviour. Contribute to, and participate in, the ongoing support of patients and their carers. Contribute to the protection of patients from abuse Contribute to the health, safety and security of patients and their environment.
