Summary

The Post Holder will work closely with the Director, Clinical Head of Division, Deputy Divisional Director, Clinical Director for Laboratory Haematology Clinical Leads and Laboratory Managers, to achieve the Trusts corporate objectives and will be expected to make a positive contribution to the delivery of health services across the local health community. Support the Director to balance the budget for the Division through active and regular monitoring and management of expenditure and by meeting any other Trust financial targets such as for cash releasing efficiency schemes. In conjunction with the Director and the Clinical Head of Division provide strategic direction for the Directorate. Support the Divisional Director to review the delivery of services seeking to utilise best practice whilst embracing local and national modernisation agenda including regional and nationally commissioned services. Will communicate effectively with Healthcare Scientists, Clinicians and other healthcare providers both within and outside of the Trust; other Trust Directorates including; Estates, ICT, Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, Occupational Health; representatives and service personnel from Commercial organisations. Will actively participate in committees and working parties within the Directorate, Division, Trust and Region and in other specialist interest group committees, providing specialist leadership and expert advice. Support the Division to develop a resource management strategy incorporating workforce planning in line with current and future service issues through leadership and the management of change. In conjunction with the Divisional Director, Clinical Director for Laboratory Haematology, Clinical Head of Division, Director of Research and Development and clinicians within the Directorate, ensure research and development is pursued in line with Trust strategy and that any practice is evidence based.
