This is an exciting opportunity for any doctor considering a career in Emergency Medicine at Tier 1 level.

These 6 month clinical Fellow posts gives the applicants an opportunity to gain dedicated paediatric experience in the “stand-alone” Paediatric Emergency department in Ormskirk.

This job would be ideal for a Doctor considering a career in Paediatrics/PEM, or for someone looking to improve their knowledge and skills before a career in Primary Care.

It’s 6 months during which time you would be supported with Clinical Audit, Study leave and CPD, and a chance to polish your applications for training, or CESR.

The clinical team in the Paediatric ED cover the department between 8am up to 2am. The role in Paediatric ED involves the assessment and treatment of all children attending the Paediatric Emergency Department under the supervision of the Senior team. The post involves weekend working but no night shift work. The successful candidate will contribute to the Tier 1 rota working on a 4 week cycle.

The Trust provides a range of local hospital services across its two main sites at Southport and Ormskirk including Supra Regional Spinal Injuries Unit.

The Trust is proud to have been awarded University Clinical Education Centre by the University of Liverpool in recognition of the high standards of training provided for students on placements with the Trust.
