Summary

Location: Nottingham, Z12 3XX

Salary - Competitive plus Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Two week shift rota-Days 06:00-14:00, Afternoons 14:00-22:00.



To be fully responsible for the day to day running of the MRF plant and use of all associated resources and equipment to maximise the facility throughput whilst ensuring all operations are fully compliant with the operating permit and company policies.

What will you be doing?

  • To be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the MRF Plant equipment including mobile plant
  • Liaise with the facilities managers to maintain efficient and effective operations
  • Undertake all tasks in accordance with the company's Quality and Environmental management system and Health and Safety Regulations
  • Ensure materials are processed to achieve maximum throughput at all times.
  • Responsible for the safety of all staff, contractors, and visitors on-site
  • Provide line management responsibilities for all facility personnel
  • Assist management during audits from customers and regulatory agencies
  • Provide accurate reporting of production data adhering to agreed deadlines
  • Assign work to production team and supervise their activities
  • Utilisation of resources to ensure maximum effectiveness and to continuously improve all aspects of the facility
  • Enforce and monitor safety rules and practices to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and ensure employees are knowledgeable about any potential or known hazards and take all necessary precautions
  • To control tipping hall activities for incoming loads in conjunction with the weighbridge operations
  • Control all loading activities in line with company procedures ensuring full compliance.
  • Inspect work area and equipment for deficiencies, hazards, and malfunctions reporting all discrepancies or unsafe condition to Management/Maintenance.
  • Assist in personnel training programs with on the job training by providing instruction to ensure employees have the skills to perform their jobs safely and in a compliant manner ● Report and respond to plant emergencies, as required
  • To comply with the company's Business Management System
  • To assist with other parts of the operation as and when required
  • Ensure that all related documentation is completed in a timely and accurate fashion



What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience within a similar supervisory role is required to be successful in this position
  • Sound knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques gained in a fast paced production environment is essential
  • Must have experience and understanding of managing 40 plus people on a daily basis
  • Yellow plant licence - Loading shovel and Fork Lift Truck is essential
  • Experience in the waste management and treatment industry is desirable
  • Flexible and adaptable person, with a common sense and focussed working attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 4 Day IOSH certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • COTC level 4TMNH or working towards
