Summary


The Essex and Suffolk Elective Orthopaedic Centre at Colchester Hospital will be one of the largest centres of its kind in Europe. Delivering high volume and low complexity cases locally for the people we serve across our region.

As a Registered Nurse, you will be working together as part of a multidisciplinary, professional team to assess care needs, and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.

The Dame Clare Marx Building that will house our elective orthopaedic centre (ESEOC) opens in August 2024 with a focus on elective orthopaedic surgery and day cases. The centre will have eight laminar flow theatres, three wards, recovery facilities, and support services including radiology and EBME.
• Responsible for the assessment of patient needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of care
• Organises time and other resources (e.g. equipment) to deliver nursing care
• Carry out relevant clinical procedures of care within the parameters of the Trust’s Policies and Procedures
• Liaise with nursing and medical colleagues and other disciplines where necessary so as to ensure continuity of patient care. Report back to nurse in charge.
