JOB DESCRIPTION
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
I'm a 35 year old gentleman living in the Glyncoch area of Pontypridd with my mother. I have Huntington’s and this causes me difficulty in processing information and I lack capacity. I would say I am a very positive happy gentleman and love the outdoors. I enjoy going out on my dirt bike, this could be on a field or a track. I do struggle with processing information and need guidance and support to be able to process it affectively. I have been confused and unaware of my actions and have been stopped by the police for riding my dirt bike on a public road, this is why we are seeking someone to support me to ensure I can continue enjoying biking, but in the most responsible way. We are looking for someone who has access to a van or trailer as you will need to transport to and from the field / track with my dirty bike. A Bike enthusiast would be perfect!
Purpose of Job:
To help me be more independent out in the community and help with my processing of information / understanding.
HOURS OF WORK
10 hours per week is available, 2hrs per day, early AM time.
RATE OF PAY
£11.60 plus some mileage covered under the Direct Payments
TASKS CAN INCLUDE
Support me out in my local community.
Promote my independence
Promote my social skills
Allow processing time
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Patient, kind and friendly.
Energetic, outgoing and easy to get along with.
Has knowledge and understanding of Huntington’s and the challenges that come with it.
Must have a full UK drivers licence with business class insurance.
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probationary period of 6 months will be necessary in the first instance. I will be your employer. The wage will be paid 4 weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay.
