Summary

We are currently recruiting for an RVN to support our existing teams in providing exceptional care to our patients. The role involves working between both prep and kennels. It is a temporary role to cover for maternity leave expected to be required from June 2024 for up to a year.

Working in our busy tier 3 accredited hospital providing exceptional care to our patients. The role involves working solely in prep/theatre, providing high quality peri-operative care to surgical patients, monitoring of anaesthesia, including emergency and critically ill patients, preparing patients for surgery and scrubbing into procedures if required, undertaking both general and theatre nursing, including the maintenance and preparation of sterile supplies and instruments and infection control. You will be working closely alongside an experienced team of vets, nurses and animal care assistants at a hospital that has been voted The Best Vets in Cheshire for 2 years on the run!

We actively promote career development with several of our nurses having completed or working towards certificates in anaesthesia, ECC, exotics, behaviour and medicine. We also offer plenty of opportunity for in-house CPD provided by Vets, nurses and access to a learning platform.

We are a modern forward-thinking team and strive to promote staff well-being, with regular social events including parties, dog walks, sports day and summer festival.

Hours of work are based on working up to 38 hours a week over a 4 or 5 day week, rotating between 7.30-5.30 and 10.30-8.30pm in prep. plus 1:4 weeks in kennels which is worked 7 am to 5 pm with the next weekend worked in prep 10 am to 8 pm which is taken back as time off in lieu. Plus a share of Bank Holidays which usually equates to two per year – one at Christmas/New Year and one in the year.

Separate dedicated night team, stock control and lab technicians so nurses do solely nurse!
