Base : Your primary base will be Glenfield Hospital. Travel between UHL’s hospital sites may be required
Accountable to: Head of Nursing (RRCV)
This exciting opportunity has arisen with in the asthma and allergy nursing service for an part time Band 6 specialist nurse. This role will allow involve working along other specialist nursing and consultant collogues to deliver a high quality service to asthma and allergy patients within Leicestershire.
Main duties of the job include:
• to deliver high quality and clinically effective care
• directly influence all aspects of patient care in both inpatient and out patient settings
• provide education for patients regarding their condition
• maintain and develop expert knowledge and provide mentoring to clinical collogues
• act as a clinical resource
• encourage effective communication between all service providers within the specialty

Duties include:
• reviewing all patients admitted to hospital with asthma
• undertaking telephone and outpatient reviews
• supporting consultant clinics , including performing investigations and providing management advice for different conditions
• run nurse led clinic including immunotherapy and high cost therapies
• contribute to MDT teaching programs
• attend MDT meetings.
